Behind The Lens: Enrique Lopez

Enrique Lopez is a self-taught photographer whose creative journey began in an unexpected way—while working in marketing, a camera was placed in his hands, and from that moment forward, visual storytelling became his calling. Raised in El Paso, Texas, he credits his artistic perspective not to the city itself, but to his mother, an artist who encouraged him to embrace creativity without boundaries. Before photography, Enrique pursued music, performing in a metalcore band and later exploring production, mixing, and mastering. That sense of rhythm and emotion continues to inform his photography, which he approaches with fluidity, letting each shoot unfold naturally rather than rigidly following a script. Inspired by legends like Peter Lindbergh, Enrique gravitates toward raw, evocative imagery that prioritizes emotion over perfection. His favorite projects are those that allow him to connect deeply with collaborators—transforming professional shoots into genuine friendships. After a brief pause during the pandemic, Enrique is returning to photography with fresh energy, eager to continue growing and experimenting. Whether behind the camera or strumming his guitar, he pursues one goal above all: to make people feel something, whatever that feeling may be.
